Program Overview: The Master of Business Administration aims to build upon students' undergraduate study through examination of the key dimensions of business operational tasks and processes in an environment of rapid change. It is intended to enable students to:
  • Understand management processes in organisations in the private and public sectors;
  • Acquire a deeper knowledge of theoretical, conceptual and ethical issues applying to the business processes;
  • Analyse, evaluate, and justify business processes in an changing environment;
  • Develop business management skills for use in an employer organisation;
  • Acquire research skills for use in employer organisations;
  • Enhance effective people skills;
  • Build and improve their leadership skills;
  • Acquire strategic skills;
  • Develop an international orientation; and
  • Develop effective ethical understanding of problems in organisations.
Specialist strands in the Master of Business Administration are available in accounting, e-commerce, information systems, international business, marketing, people management and sports management.

Students may also exit from the Master of Business Administration with the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration or the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration.

Core Units: managerial economics, accounting for decision-making, organisational dynamics and change management, marketing management, ethical leadership, corporate finance, strategic management and decision-making, corporate governance and social responsibility or ethics and organisational governance
Elective Units: - international business - international finance, international marketing, comparative business cultures, comparative regulatory frameworks, international human resource management, entrepreneurship, international political economy, special studies (international business)
- marketing - marketing research, international consumer behaviour, marketing communication, strategic marketing, international marketing, internet marketing, services marketing
- people management - workplace relations, strategic human resource management, international human resource management, managing diversity
- e-commerce - applied data communications, electronic commerce, web technologies, database systems, network programming
- information systems - current issues in information systems, information management, distributed systems, information systems and the law, information systems security, management of organisational change, software design, systems development methodologies, human factors in information systems
Entry Requirements: Applicants must have one of the following:

-bachelor degree in any discipline; or
- professional experience in management/ leadership positions to be eligible for a member grade status of a relevant professional organisation.

Special Entry: Applicants not meeting the above requirements may apply to the Head of School for special admission. Applicants must demonstrate that their knowledge and skills are such that they are equivalent to the above or demonstrate the likelihood of their success in the program. At the Head of School's discretion, entry to a higher level award (e. g. GDBA, MBA) may be made conditional upon successful completion of a lower level award (e. g. GCBA).
Alternatively, at the Head of School's discretion, or according to specific Sub-Faculty articulation agreements, entry into any one of the GCBA, GDBA, MBA, MBA (Advanced) or MBA (Acct) may be made conditional upon an applicant's successful completion of a specified four-unit preliminary program normally comprising relevant advanced undergraduate units. Such units will not subsequently be credited towards a graduate award.

English Language Requirements: In addition to all of the above, international applicants must also meet the University's English language requirements as follows:

- IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with an overall score of 6.5, including an individual score of 6.0 for writing and speaking tests and 5.5 for listening and reading tests; or
- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 575 and TWE 5.0; or a computer-based score of 230 with an essay rating of 5.0. or
- A minimum of three years study with English documented as the medium of instruction at accredited and NOOSR recognised secondary and/ or tertiary institutions plus a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent
